This week we enjoyed having Mom and Dad visit on Sunday and Monday. I had my first day as Primary Chorister and loved it. Mom and Dad and I had a good visit and Dad and I even fit in a little family history. We integrated the nice things Mom shared with us from Grandpa's estate, including one of his framed photographs of a southern Utah landscape, a sculpture of Christ and another of a rose, a toolbox full of tools, and a number of great books, many of which were inscribed or underlined by Grandpa or Grandma. Anna came off with a haul of BYU paraphernalia and games which she adores. She is also featured above wearing a Boise State t-shirt to satisfy a deal she made with my cousin Rochelle over the BYU/Boise State rivalry. Boise State won and Anna lost. She didn't really loose, Rochelle just won with more points than BYU beat utah with. She looks a little pouty, don't you think?
Monday afternoon Paul and his friend Smith had fun with their friends and slept over at Luke's house after we had an FHE on some handcart pioneer stories. Anna spent the week with her friend Sarah and they did a sewing class together. She came back with pajama bottoms, an apron and a quilt top.
Christian worked relentlessly all week so we didn't see him much. While he was gone, we went to Grand Junction Thursday where I got to see my good friend Diane and exchange kids. We hurried back for Paul's Arrow of Light ceremony. His Cubmaster made him a BYU blanket and we had lots of fun shooting arrows, roasting s'mores and having marshmallow slingshot fights. James came off with a haul of awards too, enough to almost fill his belt with beltloops.
Friday we went to Huntington Reservoir with the Engars and enjoyed riding on their awesome boat and playing in the water (and the mud). Friday night we got to see our Vegas friends the Cliffords and we ate at the Helper Balanced Rock restaurant. Saturday we went to Scofield and enjoyed the day with Bryce and Cristie and Matt and Leticia. The kids went on "four liter" rides with their Grandpa and we played a few games. Saturday night we went to our Ward Pioneer Day picnic with live entertainment and visited with friends. Afterward, we cleaned the church as it was our family's turn. The kids maintained their late bedtime schedule and so this morning was a little difficult getting ready for 9 am church, but we made it on time.
We had a busy week but it was a lot of fun (more so for me than for Christian).
We got to see some of our favorite friends and family members. Isn't this what summer is all about?
(Anna would like to note that the Boise State shirt was worn on top of other clothes and didn't really touch her skin.)

Anna, you need to post the picture on the TAYLOR blog! And I love how you covered up the "Winning" part with your hair!
