Last Month of School

This past month has been crazy busy for our family. We were naive to think that spring soccer and little league were compatible. We won't be doing that again. Our kids are wrapping up school for the year. Pierce and Garrett graduated from preschool last week, and "the big three" finish this week. This will be Anna's last week in elementary school-- our jaws are still dropping. Paul will finish fourth grade and James will finish first. It has been a singular year for us with five kids all at the same school. Next year Ali will be at home alone with me all day everyday, and that will be a huge change for me after having at least three kids at home all the time since James was born almost eight years ago. I am finally going to get a cell phone because I will have a little mobility again.
We have had landscapers working in our yard for the past three weeks. They have graded it, put in a rock wall with boulders to retain the border that is high, installed drains, installed sprinklers including a booster pump that taps into the secondary water, and done all the final grading. All we need now is the electrical connection for the pump and then we can get hydroseed. He can hardly wait as this is the fourth year we are in our house. By the fourth of July we should be able to use the grass completely. Anyone for a barbeque?

That all sounds so grown up. I can't imagine how much more work is required to establish and maintain a true house with a real yard than a tiny little apartment. But I am very jealous of your barbequeing abilities :)
